Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput were blessed with a baby girl at around 8.15pm on Friday night.
Sources at the Hinduja Healthcare Surgical Hospital, Khar, where Mira had been admitted on Thursday night, said it was a normal delivery and that both mother and child were doing well.
She was taken to the labour room at 7pm and delivered a healthy baby girl about an hour later,” added a source. The source added that the child weighed around 2.8kg.
Shahid Twitted to announce the news. "She has arrived and words fall short to express our happiness.Thank you for all your wishes,"
The actor, being the doting husband that he is, has been spending as much time as possible with his wife. He has already taken time off from work commitments.
