Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar made an appearance at Rio 2016 Olympics. Tendulkar, who is an Indian Olympic Association goodwill ambassador, left the country for Rio on August 2.
Former India skipper flew to Rio to attend the 2016 Olympics after the ace batsman was invited by International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach.
Retired cricket legend Tendulkar accepted Indian Olympic Association’s invitation to become the Goodwill Ambassador for the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics earlier this year.
Tendulkar accepted IOA’s proposal to become Indian contingent’s Goodwill Ambassador for Rio Olympics after the subject has been engulfed in controversy ever since IOA had announced Salman Khan as the Ambassador. Since then there have been numerous views and counter-views on using Salman as an Ambassador.
Sachin took to social media and uploaded some of his pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Ambani. Nita Ambani was chosen as one of the members of IOC recently.
