Rio de Janeiro: Ace shuttler PV Sindhu thumped Nozomi Okuhara of Japan to enter the finals of the women's singles event of badminton competitions at the Rio Olympic Games here on Thursday.
She beat her Japanese rival Nozomi Okuhara in straight sets registering a 21-19, 21-10 triumph in the semi-finals.
With this win, Sindhu has also assured India of its second medal. PV Sindhu will be the first Indian woman badminton player to win either a Gold or a Silver medal in the Olympics.
